9 Lives

There is no denying that I am an Ozzy fan from way back! My kids and I still listen to Black Sabbath every Saturday (the Dio albums slip in occasionally, but the oldest ALWAYS asks for Ozzy years) and one of the collective favourite songs amongst my 3 boys is ‘Crazy Train’. I definitely have not loved everything that Ozzy has done, in fact with the exception of his latest album, I haven’t really enjoyed a whole lot of his music since ‘No More Tears’ back in 1991. I was also not a huge fan of The Osbournes tv show, although that had more to do with my dislike of ‘reality’ tv than Ozzy himself. I still don’t understand how someone who repeatedly says ‘God Bless You’ and ‘I Love You All’ to his audiences is perceived as the Prince of Darkness but…that’s just me!

In any case, it was recently announced that a Biopic on Ozzy (something along the lines of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ movie, likely) was being shopped around. I would definitely watch it, mostly for the music of course because how factual it actually will be is definitely going to be up for debate! In the meantime though A&E has a biography coming out on Ozzy that looks to be really great! It’s called The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne (click here to check out the site) and from the previews, it looks relatively comprehensive. Check out the preview below!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
