Calls for service for police up in Thunder Bay

Crime in the City of Thunder Bay is on the increase.

Statistics released by the Thunder Bay Police Service shows that their calls for service rose last month compared to a year earlier.

Crime increased in all categories.

Assaults increased by 37, there were 38 more thefts and 34 additional domestic disputes.

Police also dealt with 176 calls related to mental health.

Overall, calls for service were up by 150 to 4,451.
