There are now 14 retail cannabis stores in Thunder Bay authorized to be open, according to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Canna Cabana under High Tide Incorporated is one of the newest additions, setting up shop at 949 Fort William Road.
“High Tide is an Alberta based corporation,” explains Chief Revenue Officer Andy Palalas. “We have a number of retail stores across the country, 90 retail stores across the country actually, as well as online platforms such as grasscity.com and other e-commerce platforms for smoking and cannabis accessories.”
Palalas adds the new location is in the Thunder Centre.
“Our concept is an approachable, playful cannabis store. We carry the widest selection of high quality cannabis in Thunder Bay,” noted Palalas.
By the end of May 2021, there were 2,046 retail cannabis stores open and selling in Canada.
According to Business of Cannabis, that’s a 126 per cent increase from May 2020.
Projections show the number of stores opening will continue to sharply grow for the foreseeable future.
