It’s election time in the U.S. which means that artists (well, everyone with a voice really) are doing their best to encourage people to get out and vote. This year seems to be a big one for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fox did a remake earlier this year and on Halloween there will be a live stream of a live version featuring some big names in the Indie Music Scene that will be hosted by Tim Curry(!). It’s a fundraiser for Wisconsin Democrats, and if you’re interested in that you can check out how to watch and donate here. This popped up on my feed today and I was pretty entertained, to say the least! Tenacious D (actor Jack Black and his partner in song Kyle Gas) have released their own version of the smash hit ‘Time Warp’. Vinyl editions will be put up for sale and proceeds will go to the ‘Rock The Vote’ foundation in the U.S. while the vide itself encourages folks to vote, it also has some cute special appearances by: U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Susan Sarandon, Sarah Silverman, John Waters, Jamie Lee Curtis, Karen O, Reggie Watts, Ezra Miller, Ilanna Glazer, Phoebe Bridgers, John Heilemann, George Takei, Eric Andre, King Princess, Michael Peña and Peaches.
It’s a hoot of a watch, if only for Jack’s costume changes and Kyle’s eye changes!
