City Seeks Bids For Waterfront District Improvements

The Waterfront District, particularly Red River Road could be in line for some streetscaping work.

City spokesperson Kayla Dixon says that could include pedestrian lighting, street furniture, and anything which would transform Red River Road into something similar to what is happening there right now.

“One of the things that could be considered for sure would be…using some of the traffic lane space right now…changed into patios for restaurants or other public space,” explains Dixon.

The city has issued a request for proposals from consultants.

According to the bid document the successful consulting team would have to be able to assess impacts to traffic and to underground infrastructure, and maintenance.
