City Services Slowly Resuming

Lots of city services return today including parking metre fees and transit fares.

Vehicles parked at expired meters will be ticketed. If you take the bus, you are asked to try and physical distance while onboard and wear a face mask at bus stops and on-board buses.

When it comes to the city’s two long term care homes they are taking steps to allow for more visits to their facilities. Pioneer Ridge and Jasper Place are taking a staged approach to reopening.

The two nursing homes are now permitting two visitors at one time during outdoor visits, and they no longer require a COVID-19 test.

The city says preparations are also underway for indoor visits which may begin this week but will not commence until all arrangements are in place to follow the strict safety guidelines.

Regulations on inside visits include instructions on infection control practices, scheduled limited visits, a negative COVID-19 test, initially only primary caregivers, mandatory masks, limits on the number of visitors in the facility at one time and close monitoring of all guidelines.
