It’s a new way of doing city business during a pandemic.
Bobbi Tait is with the city’s construction services and explains now when they offer bids for projects, COVID-19 is front and centre in the tender process.
“Well when we have our site visits we will be practicing physical distancing and there’s a screening questionnaire before that first site visit,” Taid said.
The city employee tells us she is doing her first project since COVID-19 hit our community, an upgrade to the weight room at the Canada Games Complex.
There are rules in place for hired construction companies on city projects that include hand hygiene, masks, screening at the job site and hand sanitization.
