More details are coming to light in relation to an assault in the Current River area that was recorded on video.
Police say they’ve charged a 16-year old Thunder Bay girl with assault, after a video on social media showed the accused following a male, and then police say she hit the victim before running away.
During the early stages of the investigation, police didn’t know who the victim was, but after a public appeal, they know now who that is.
Police add the witnesses recording it knew the accused, but the victim didn’t know them. It happened around 2 o’clock, Saturday morning. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the accused can’t be named, but this matter will be addressed in court July 30th.
