Province Crafting Plan For Businesses

Provincial government officials are working on creating a plan to gradually reopen Ontario businesses once the pandemic comes to an end.

Premier Doug Ford says they’ll be looking at businesses that aren’t in tight quarters first.

“Certain areas that you don’t have to worry about working side by side working on a line where you can’t practice social distancing. Maybe outdoor activities we can look at but again we will be consulting with industry and communities,” Ford said.

Ford says although they are working on a plan that doesn’t mean Ontario will be lifting COVID-19 restrictions any time soon.

The Premier also reiterated that they aren’t going to open the economy on the May long weekend. Ford says when they start lifting restrictions businesses will be brought online in a slow trickle.

The business framework is expected to be unveiled by the province sometime next week.
