Toastmasters District 106 is hosting its Annual Conference in Thunder Bay for the first time.
The event is kicking off on Friday and running through Saturday.
The event is taking place at the Delta Hotels by Marriott.
Business leaders and professionals from across northwestern Ontario, Minnesota and Wisconsin are gathering at the District Conference to listen to speeches and select the Toastmaster speaker who may represent the District at the Toastmasters International to be held later this year in Philadelphia.
The District Communication and Leadership Award is also being given out to a distinguished individual from the community who exemplifies excellence in communication or leadership.
Keynote speakers will be on hand, including Lance Miller, the 2005 Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking.
There will also be a speaking tournament as well as contests and workshops.
