Two LRCA employees honoured by Invasive Species Center

Two members of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority have been honoured by the Invasive Species Center.

Jessie McFadden and Michelle Willows won the leadership award Tuesday night.

The awards are given out to celebrate excellence in invasive species prevention and management.

Colin Cassin, Invasive Species Centre Executive Director says their work is valuable.

“We thank and commend all award nominees and event attendees for their important work on invasive species, which have a $3.6-billion-dollar annual impact in Ontario alone on forests, fisheries, agriculture, infrastructure, public health, recreation, and tourism.”

This was the fourth annual awards ceremony.
